Restorative Yoga (online)

CLOSED

About the Class

SPARROW CLASS (this class will likely keep you in your parasympathetic nervous system. While there may be brief moments where energy is increased, regulation is the focus).   Relax and renew. In restorative yoga, we use blankets and bolsters to relax into gentle yoga poses. This allows the body to gently open to the benefits of the pose, and for you to surrender into relaxation.   Ideal for those experiencing (or staving off) burnout, this practice works to heal accumulated stress and strain in the bodymind. It's especially beneficial for those with anxiety, depression, adrenal fatigue, cancer, or stress-related illnesses.   For those joining in person, we've got plenty of props to borrow or you're welcome to bring your favorites. You might consider bringing your own eye pillow. For those joining online, the teacher will typically be cuing with a rectangular bolster, 3 blankets, 2 foam blocks, and a strap. Pillows and blankets from around the house can definitely get the job done. You might consider pulling off a couch cushion for a firmer support than those. You might consider purchasing a yoga strap that enables you to create and tighten a loop (i.e. the kind with the little metal buckle).
