About the Class

Ballet is a classical dance form that emphasizes grace, precision, and strength, focusing on controlled movements, posture, and technique. In this class, students will learn foundational steps, including pliés, tendus, and arabesques, while building flexibility, balance, and poise. Ideal for both beginners and those looking to refine their skills, ballet provides a strong foundation for all dance styles. Class Level: Intermediate level classes are suitable for dancers who have prior extensive dance experience and are looking to either return to dance or advance into more pre-professional training or competitive dancing.Students should have 3-4 years of consistent, recent dance training on the specific style of the class A solid understanding of basic and intermediate techniques is required.   Class Structure:  Warm-up: Gentle exercises to prepare the body and activate core muscles. Barre Work: Traditional barre exercises focusing on port de bras and core strength. Center Technique: Adagio, pirouettes, petit allégro, and grand allégro, emphasizing control and technique. Musicality and Choreography: Explore combinations set to both classical and contemporary music, enhancing musicality and expression.

Special Instructions

1. Attire: Form fitting, stretch clothing you can sweat in, to ensure your movements and lines are visible and unrestricted. 2. Footware: Ballet Shoes recommended. Bare feet acceptable. Shoes can be purchased at City Dance Corps. 3. Sign up General Info: Pre-registration closes 2 hours in advance. Sign up through the CDC website or  CDC app. Book ahead and online. Spaces are limited.
