Lilka Mimbella was born in Brooklyn, New York, and holds a BFA in Dance as well as an MS in Education. Her passion for dance has taken her across the globe, performing in Peru, Brazil, and throughout the United States.Lilka has worked with a range of renowned dance companies, including The Alpha Omega Dance Company, Viva Brazil Dance Company, and Ochumare Dance Company, among others. She currently teaches dance throughout New York City, sharing her expertise and love for movement with students of all ages.One of Lilka’s specialties is Samba—a vibrant dance deeply rooted in West African rhythms and movements. Often referred to as the heartbeat of Brazil, Samba reflects the energy, culture, and spirit of its people, and Lilka brings that same vibrancy to every class she leads.
