Han Mu Do Instructor, Personal Trainer, and Archery Instructor
The Harvest Concept
Melissa Neal2nd Lead Instructor & School Management at The Harvest ConceptMelissa Neal is a powerhouse of energy, focus, and flair at The Harvest Concept, where she wears many belts—Black Belts, to be exact. As 2nd Lead Instructor and part of the management team, she teaches Han Mu Do to students from age 3 to seasoned adults, leads traditional Korean archery, fitness classes, breathwork, and meditation, and offers personal training in all of the above. If it’s part of Harvest’s mission to build strong bodies, sharp minds, and calm spirits—Melissa’s probably leading it.Her background in movement began with 30+ years of formal ballet, tap, and jazz training at Ann Carroll School of Dance. She eventually traded pirouettes for punches, joining forces with Harvest founder Justin Martin shortly after the school opened. Within months, she was assisting Mr. Martin in classes, taking lead in satellite programs, and helping to shape the curriculum. She also brings experience in office management and optician work, and once studied to become a high school math teacher—so if you need someone to help with your roundhouse and your algebra homework, she’s got you covered.Melissa earned her 1st Dan Black Belt in Han Mu Do and became a certified instructor in 2018. She’s currently training for her 4th Dan and preparing to earn the prestigious title of Master Instructor in 2025. She also holds a Blue Belt in Jiu Jitsu, a Level 2 USA Archery Coach certification, is a certified personal trainer with the National Academy of Sports Medicine, and assists the United States Han Mu Do Association with major events and logistics.A decorated martial artist, Melissa holds multiple medals from World Han Mu Do Tournaments and serves on both the U.S. and World Masters Forums. But what truly drives her is the chance to make an impact—on the mat, in the community, and in the lives of her students. She’s proud that all three of her sons are Black Belts in Han Mu Do, and she sees her role at Harvest not just as a job, but as a calling. When she’s not teaching or training, Melissa can be found spending time with her kids, cooking delicious Italian-inspired meals, or plotting world domination (lovingly, of course) with her fiancé, Ricky. She’s also a creative soul who crafts soaps, candles, resin jewelry, and handmade gifts—because balance is everything, even when your life revolves around martial arts.
