Empower Fitness
Bio:At eighteen years old, I started using fitness to manage my lupus symptoms. It was so successful I left my desk job and spent 20+ years in the fitness industry as a spin instructor, yoga instructor, personal trainer, youth coach, gym manager, and gym owner. In 2011 after a devastating MS diagnose my perspective on wellness changed. At the age of 40, I stopped spending hours on an elliptical, ate more food, lost 40 pounds, and learned to manage my MS with lifestyle. In my 40’s I completed a triathlon, multiple marathons, and one 50 mile ultra marathon. Currently, I am on a track to finish the 48 4000 footers in New Hampshire before I turn 49. Life is too short to live in a gym. The gym is just one tool to get people living their lives. I have coached hundreds of clients with philosophy. I believe in a customized approach to coaching. Now, I am redefining the fitness industry with Empower Fitness. I have recruited a team with the same philosophy, and we are excited to watch you succeed.Fun Fact:A client asked if I wanted to run the Boston Marathon 8 weeks before it was about to happen. I had never run more than 6 miles, but couldn’t say no to an opportunity like that. I received most of my training on the bus ride to the start line. I learned about nipple chafing and the importance of gatorade. I completed that Marathon in 4:20 and was training clients the next day. It was not my last marathon.
