Reformer Instructor
Halletts Point Pilates
I began teaching Pilates in 2006 after earning my certification with Teri Steele, creator of Steele Pilates™. I joined the faculty at Dance New Amsterdam, where I taught Pilates mat classes and served as a Teacher Trainer and Supervisor for Steele Pilates™. Working with professional dancers and choreographers there deepened my appreciation for how versatile and impactful Pilates can be for every body.In 2007, I expanded my teaching to the athletic field, working with Division I athletes at Columbia University. As a Physical Education Associate for 15 years, I led sport-specific Pilates sessions for teams including men’s and women’s soccer, baseball, and crew, as well as sessions for the wider Columbia community. From 2016 to 2017, I completed extensive training on all Pilates apparatus with Ellie Herman, founder of Ellie Herman Pilates and the Balanced Body Pilates Springboard™. This training marked the start of my professional journey at Equinox, where I served as a Senior Pilates Instructor and Complex Pilates Manager. There, I managed and developed multiple classical Pilates studios, honing my leadership and program design skills. In 2023, my understanding of Pilates was deepened even further after I broke my right wrist. Pilates became my pathway to recovery. Despite the injury, I was able to maintain strength and alignment using the Reformer, focusing on footwork and correcting postural imbalances. This experience reminded me how essential and healing regular Pilates practice is—not just for performance, but for rehabilitation and daily well-being.I continue to live by the timeless words of Joseph Pilates: “Change happens through movement, and movement heals.”These words guide not only how I teach, but how I live.
