Amy is a lifelong student of movement whose fascination and curiosity about biomechanics began with ballet training at a young age. She attended the Boston Conservatory and The School of The Hartford Ballet, and danced professionally with North Atlantic Ballet Company and Bare Bones Dance Project. With over a decade of experience teaching ballet and modern dance, Amy’s career shifted after experiencing injuries and being diagnosed with arthritis and an autoimmune condition.Turning to Pilates for her own healing, Amy found such positive results that she pursued certification through Balanced Body. She has since expanded her training with a variety of Pilates workshops, and is a certified Functional Range Conditioning Mobility Specialist, equipping her to help clients increase their range of motion and maintain joint health. Amy is currently working on expanding her qualifications as a Pilates Movement Specialist for Athletes to better serve her growing number of professional, collegiate and amatuer athletes in their specific sports. Amy’s teaching style blends traditional and contemporary Pilates, rooted in foundational movement principles. Her personalized client training emphasizes proper form, improves movement efficiency, reduces the risk of injury, builds strength, increases joint stabilization and proper mobility, and improves balance and endurance.
