Movement has always been part of my life! I started dancing when I was three years old and I haven’t stopped pursing movement since then. I love seeing what the human body can do and reveling in all the experiences it can have.  At 11 years old I discovered yoga and meditation while school in Cab Calloway. I had some incredible experiences with meditation and yoga nidra that peaked my curiosity about what is possible for my body and my mind. As an dancer my approach was to take the hardest and hottest classes I could find. I would look around the room and see all these people in difficult postures, being amazed by their bodies and what they could do. So I make my body do it too. I would hold my breath, and I would force my body into positions. For a long time that was my every Wednesday morning, and then I’d check the yoga box for my week.Fast forward years into me forcing my body and pushing as hard as I could with yoga - I went to a charity event and won a gift certificate for the Brand New Beginner at Empowered Yoga. I came in and talked to Jeremy - clearly I didn’t need the BNB since I was really experienced, I asked to trade that certificate for regular classes. Jeremy very gently suggested I go through the program. That is when my life trajectory completely changed.The Brand New Beginner program completely changed my approach to yoga….this approach to yoga was so different then how I understood it. That’s when yoga came into my life in a deeply meaningful way.I started to understand why we were doing the things we were doing and how they all worked together, especially that’s it’s not one size fits all.That’s when I quit my job and decided I wanted to be a dancer and work at the yoga studio to help make that happen so my schedule was more flexible. But then Johnny offered me the next life shift - in 2017 I started my training as a yoga instructor at Empowered Yoga. Now full circle - I teach the Brand New Beginner program. I get to teach the course that changed the trajectory of my life.  Hopefully I’ll be able to help people not make the mistakes I did with my body.Working with people one on one is truly one of favorite things. Since I’ve been moving most of my life, teaching dance, yoga and balanced athlete, I have really honed my ability to see the body and read what people need to take the next step with their body. I have worked hard to have an eye for movement and how the body is built to move. I cherish my time to be able to guide and help students wherever they are at in order to break through to their next level. Whether that’s working with people who are injuried or atheltes looking to boost their performance, I love being part of people making strides toward a more functional body and a connected mind.Molly has fully trained in all the forms of classes that Empowered Wellness offers and each one brings another strength to her ability to guide people. She will complete her 500 hour certification for yoga instruction in the summer of 2022.
