Over ten years ago, yoga changed my life. I was terribly anxious and overwhelmed working at Geisinger Medical Center managing a hospitality house for adult cancer patients who lived in the building to be close to the hospital for chemotherapy and radiation treatments. I took my first yoga class and was amazed at how peaceful and clear I felt after the class. The practice of yoga equipped me with the tools I needed to cultivate an inner sanctuary of peace and enabled me to stay in that job for over a decade. After two years of practicing yoga as a student, I completed my first teacher training and started teaching yoga at Melt Hot Yoga in Edwardsville, PA. I have been teaching yoga weekly since 2013. In 2014, I decided to start my MS in Yoga Therapy at Maryland University of Integrative Health to help people learn how to better integrate physical poses, breathing practices, and mindfulness exercises into their lives to self-regulate the stress response and better manage anxiety, sleep disturbances, and chronic pain. Since 2021, I’ve worked for Walter Reed National Military Medical Center as a Mind Body Therapist. I’ve completed other trainings as well including a Vinyasa teacher training in 2018 at Balance Yoga in Forty Fort, PA. I am also certified in Vibrational Sound Therapy and am in process of completing my Reiki mastery.
