Mandi Gardner discovered yoga in her early 20s, taking a class as part of a college credit. This experience sparked a lifelong journey, leading her to earn a 500-hour certification in 2014 and devote ten years to Bikram yoga. However, feeling limited by the 26-posture sequence, she sought more depth, finding it in the Ashtanga Mysore method. She began training under advanced teachers in both Ghosh-style and Ashtanga, ultimately dedicating herself fully to Ashtanga in 2018.Her commitment to this practice led to a transformative milestone—achieving lasting sobriety after two decades of struggling with alcoholism. Mandi attributes her success to Mysore-style practice, which supported her nervous system, mind, and body in a profound way. In 2022, she completed an additional 200-hour Ashtanga-influenced teacher training, further refining her teaching skills.Mandi now shares her passion for healing through Ashtanga, teaching the Primary Series and part of the Intermediate Series, with a focus on the self-led Mysore style. Her journey also brought her to study under Sharath Jois, the lineage holder of Ashtanga yoga, in Miami. Inspired by this experience, Mandi aspires to travel to Mysore, India, for a two-month intensive with Sharath, aiming for future authorization.Dedicated to helping others recover from trauma and addiction, Mandi teaches with compassion and a deep respect for Ashtanga’s roots, empowering her students to build strength, resilience, and independence in their practice.
